Tonight you need to study EVERYTHING we’ve learned in this class for a game of review bingo tomorrow. The more you study the more you can win!

For Thursday you need to do a few things:

1. Analyze a meal: Before class on Thursday, pick one meal that you eat and analyze the ingredients to identify which parts of the meal are sources of protein, carbohydrates, or fat. Then, for each part of the meal, explain where it is being digested in your body.
2. Study the digestive system: There will be a quiz activity on Thursday about the parts of the digestive system and their functions. Be ready!
3. Complete your course evaluation: On Monday we handed out course evaluations. If you have not already done them, make sure you fill yours out and bring it in. (Or you can mail yours in if you want.) When filling it out, remember that the course name is “Human Anatomy & Physiology”. The teacher names are “Paul Bruno & Patty Holman”. We do not have a teaching assistant in this class.

Tonight you need to draw a diagram of the brain using the card stock we gave you in class. You don’t need to label it yet. We will label the brain, eyes, and ear once we’ve added them to the body diagram.

Your homework for this weekend is to study ALL of the material we’ve covered so far in this class for a game of Jeopardy on Monday. You’ll have a new group on Monday and you want to be a helpful teammate.

Before class tomorrow you need to record your pulse (heart rate) at each of the times we decided on in class. Remember that you can find your pulse by placing one or two fingers on your wrist or on the side of your neck. Use a clock or watch and count how many times your heart beats in 10 seconds. Then multiply that number by 6 to find your heart rate.

For Thrusday you should use the cardstock we gave you to draw ONE ear for your body diagram. You can use the picture we labeled in class as a guide. We will label your drawing after it has been attached to the body diagram.

Tonight you need to do TWO drawings of an eyeball: one viewed from the front and one viewed from the side. These drawings should be colored but they do not need to be labelled. We will label them after we cut them out and glue them to our body diagrams.

Your homework for Friday: have a great weekend! We’ll check in with you on Monday to make sure you did it.

Your homework for Thursday is to make a model of a cell that includes all of the parts we learned about in class today. The only real rule is that you can’t just draw the organelles. Other than that, you can do whatever you want, glue on anything you want, and be as creative as you want. Please make sure the parts are labeled and that you can explain why you used the materials you did.

ATDP has started! Patty and I are EXCITED!!! (That’s why I’m using capital letters and exclamation marks!)

Your homework for tonight has 2 parts:

1. Cut off and sign the bottom portion of the course policies paper in your binder. Remember to get an adult at home to sign it, too, and to keep the top part for yourself.
2. Write a letter introducing yourself to Patty and I. You can use our letter to you as an example. Please write at least 10 sentences, but the more the better. We love reading these.

Also, if we gave you emergency forms or photo release forms, please remember to get those filled out and bring them back tomorrow. (Most students did not get these from us today, so they don’t need to worry about it.)
